The fourth episode of Out of Darkness explores the current psychology of the descendents of the enslaved Africans throughout the diaspora and examines the metal state of a people forced to endure such a tragedy as horrific Transatlantic Slave trade. The psychological conditioning of the African during the enslavement process is discussed in detail, along with the lingering effects of those survival mechanisms that still exist within the African-American community today. The biological connection to multi-generational trauma, in relation to epigenetics, is also discussed.

The second part of the episode deals with the conquest of mind of the African through the colonizing and the control of the image of God and the depiction of God as a European male. The mental effect of the image of a European God on the mind of an African person is examined through the lense of clinical psychology and why this process of controlling the image of God was so critical in the enslavement process of the African.
